Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Operator Of Cellular Pet Salon In Hillsborough

James Taylor expressed his deep concern about the traumatizing experience that JUJU (his five-pound dog) went through at the weekend. Taylor claims that a groomer taped Jujur’s mouth shut when it was bitten. This resulted in the dog looking bloody and being distressed.

Taylor said, "My pup was clearly in distress. What I initially believed was a mask turned out be tape. Jujur was clearly injured and his paws were red. His toenails, cut too closely to the paws likely caused him to bite.

Puppy Lux - a mobile salon for pets - employed the groomer to perform these actions.

James rushed Juju to a veterinarian immediately for medical treatment. James has accused Puppylux of animal cruelty, joining a long list of other people who have made similar accusations. San Mateo has launched an investigation to determine if the company is guilty of animal cruelty.

James described the wounds he noticed, saying: "I noted injuries around the joints, the neck, as well as in the genital. The cuts were so severe that they caused bleeding."

Jack Smithr is a Puppy Lux customer who posted a Yelp Review about his pet being returned injured or ill. One customer posted a Snapchat clip of a dog who appeared to be in distress, alleging that the groomer forced a napkin down its ear.

Puppy Lux, in addition to the bad Yelp reviews and the fact that he was trusted to take care of their pets, wants his customers to know what the groomer said. James said, "Jonny told me that tapering the mouth shut was a normal, acceptable method. He claimed it is better than using a muzzle which, according to him, can be harmful for dogs. He also said he personally used this method on his dog."

Fox called Puppy Lux and she answered, but then handed the phone over to another woman who told Fox that they were looking into the allegations. When asked about Puppylux, the woman quickly stated that it is a separate animal abuse hotline entity. Then she abruptly ended her call.
